Supplemental Insurance

Supplemental health insurance plans are designed to cover costs that primary health insurance may not fully pay for or may not cover at all. In most cases, supplemental insurance are indemnity plans that provide a cash benefit to the policyholder when they experience a medical issue.

Consumers can use the benefits in any way they deem necessary; for healthcare related expenses (co-payments, deductibles or out of pocket expenses) or for everyday living expenses (like groceries, gas or utilities) such as is designed to provide extra coverage such as deductibles, copayments, or services not included in standard plans. These plans will generally pay a benefit regardless of what the insurance company pays for the services rendered.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance
MedSupp Insurance: Medicare Supplemental Insurance (otherwise known as a MedSupp plan) pays up to 100% of a beneficiary’s out of pocket expenses not covered by traditional Medicare. These plans are available to those who qualify for Medicare and who qualify with underwriting (policy is guaranteed issue if selected at your initial Medicare enrollment).

There is a monthly premium associated with these plans, but you can experience peace of mind, knowing that your medical expenses are covered. Supplemental Health Insurance
These are plans outside of traditional health insurance that can provide consumers with additional coverage that their health insurance will not cover. Supplemental insurance is generally split into specific categories:

Some plans offer benefits for surgical procedures that take place in outpatient facilities as well.

Travel Health Insurance
Many people do not think about their healthcare needs when they are planning a vacation. They often make the mistake in thinking that their health insurance will cover them regardless of where they are. What about international travel?
